Another excellent Edublogs.org weblog
Thank you for visiting my blogsite and I hope that this site will be helpful to you in knowing what your child is doing and learning throughout his/her 1st grade year in my class at Van Pelt. Use this site to see schedules, standards of learning, daily activities, special events and school information. You may contact me through this site and you may use the various links to educational sites for extra practice and ways to work with your child at home. I will be adding additional pages throughout the year including pictures and special awards such as citizenship, AR reading accomplishments and other successes that we see throughout the year. I will also post homework assignments daily so you may check this site if ever in doubt. I look forward to working with your child and you this year and am excited about the OCEANS of learning opportunities that lie ahead. It will be a great year and I know that you will be amazed at the achievements that your child reaches this year. 1st graders are like sponges soaking up all the information that we provide for them. Working together, we can provide a great atmosphere for your child to develop educationally, socially and emotionally.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Henson
On Blogging….
Hello and welcome to my blog. For those of you new to blogging (me included), a blog site is similar to a web site, except that it allows for immediate feedback and interaction. “Blogging” is the term used when you read other comments and write/post your own. Please be advised that everyone can view what you write…blogging means public access! If you need to speak with me privately, please leave me a note to contact you or use my private e-mail address.
In my classroom, we will use blogging for communication, as well as for a new and innovative method of class work. The use of computer technology in the classroom is very motivating and engaging for students. First grade students will surprise you with their ability to use this technology!
Please read my blog and read it often, as I will use this more eco-friendly form of communication in lieu of paper whenever possible. Thanks for your cooperation!
